The consequences of trauma to the individual is often a loss of oneself, one’s identity is reduced and it becomes difficult to know how to move forward within their own lives. It is important to share the experiences of trauma and its effects, to provide opportunity for one to identify their responses to trauma and finding a preferred way forward for healing.

Sessions are designed to help you re-author your story by exploring your identity, purpose, and the intentions that shape your life. We will reflect on your hopes, aspirations, and what you look forward to, creating space for new possibilities. Together, we can explore how trauma—whether it be family violence, sexual assault, suicide, the Stolen Generations, loss of identity, anxiety, depression, or the loss of family members—has shaped your journey, and how we can begin to reshape its impact on your sense of self.

Aboriginal therapy tools, crafted by a First Nations woman, provide counsellors and therapists with innovative resources to enhance the therapeutic experience within the therapy room. These tools are designed to support understanding, communication, and healing, accommodating the unique cultural contexts of First Nations people.
The collection of resources covers a wide range of topics, including suicide, complex trauma, unlearning shame, and therapeutic letter writing, among others. Each resource is approached with sensitivity and relevance to First Nations communities, recognising the specific challenges faced by individuals in these settings.
By utilising these tools, therapists can foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages deeper dialogue and healing. They serve not only to facilitate discussions but also to honour the rich cultural heritage and resilience of First Nations people. The application of these resources helps to create meaningful connections, allowing for a more profound therapeutic process that promotes healing for all involved.
